The first victory of the season for 707 Team Minini, of which F.A.S. Srl Airport Services is a sponsor, it arrives immediately and not alone. At their debut in 2021, both Giorgia Priarone and Gregory Barnaby grabbed success in the first edition of the Duathlon sprint in Barzanò, in the province of Lecco. The encore of success bears the signature of the two bearers of the black-green club, both engaged until a few days earlier in a demanding training retreat in the Canary Islands. The great amount of athletic work should have led Priarone and Barnaby to the top in view of two international 70.3 triathlons (in Spain and Portugal). None of this, since the competitive calendar has been revolutionized by Covid-19: thus the athletes of 707 Team Minini have turned to the Lecco duathlon, the first stage of the Fitri circuit. On sprint distances (5 km of running, 20 of cycling and another 2.5 of running), Priarone and Barnaby had no rivals from the first stage. Despite the staggered starts in heats, the dominion of the Brescia team was immediately evident. Giorgia, 28 years old from Piedmont, inflicted 1’39 “on Asia Mercatelli and 2’32” on Chiara Cavalli. The 29 year old from Verona left Nicolò Strada at 23 “and Davide Ingrillì at 25”. The double joy made the suspension of the two Iberian 70.3s less bitter. This is the comment of Germano Raddi, president of 707 Team Minini: “We are happy and at the same time sorry for the change of plans. We convinced ourselves to participate in the Barzanò duathlon to remove the rust caused by the enormous workloads. Also for this reason, against the specialists of fast distances, I would not have expected this encore. A round of applause, therefore, to Giorgia and Gregory, protagonists of a very positive race ”.
