Emirates and Tap Air Portugal, which have been customers of F.a.s. Airport Services for carrying out the transport services of its crews and passengers, strengthen the partnership. The two airlines have signed a memorandum of understanding that will extend the current codshare agreement.
The new agreement, which comes into effect on May 1, 2021, will allow customers of both airlines to benefit from seamless connections to numerous destinations in the Americas, North Africa and East Asia.
The two carriers will also evaluate possible options in order to improve their respective programs dedicated to frequent flyers, including mutual benefits related to the possibility of redeeming miles and benefits such as, for example, access to lounges.
Mutual support is also scheduled in their respective stopover programs in Dubai and Lisbon, with Emirates supporting Tap Air Portugal regarding a potential expansion of operations in the UAE.
“Emirates and Tap Air Portugal have mutually benefited from a codeshare agreement for the past eight years. We are delighted to expand this partnership and look forward to delivering even more benefits to our customers, ” Emirates chief commercial officer Adnan Kazim said in a statement.
“Tap Air Portugal is pleased to strengthen its partnership with Emirates, thanks to which travelers can take advantage of an even wider network – added Arik De, chief revenue & network officer of Tap Air Portugal. We look forward to taking Emirates customers to even more cities in Portugal, to our destinations in the Americas and North Africa, and enabling them to benefit from our Stopover Portugal program. “
