Cyclocross World Championships in Belgium: Silvia Persico will wear the jersey of the Italian national team
Happiness at Valcar – Travel & Service because Silvia Persico will participate in the elite women’s cyclocross world championships that will take place in Ostend (Belgium) on Saturday 30th January at 3.10 pm on a path that the coach of the Italian national team Fausto Scotti defined as “very demanding”. To complete the staff Italy there will be the Italian champion Alice Maria Arzuffi, Rebecca Gariboldi, Eva Lechner and Chiara Teocchi.
Wearing the Italian national team jersey is the right reward for Silvia Persico who raised her level and raced throughout the entire cyclocross season, competing for the first time in her career in Superprestige 2020-2021 races with the Valcar-Travel & Service jersey. In this way Silvia has added important elements in terms of experience at the highest levels in a fascinating discipline like cyclocross.
After a series of ups and downs in the early part of the season and a few unfortunate falls including the one that excluded her from the fight for the victory of the Italian Championship, Silvia Persico began to put together a series of convincing performances and showed up on the tapes of start of the World Championship with a growing physical shape, strong of a 22nd place conquered with the national team jersey in the World Cup in Overijse with significantly shortened gap by the best athletes.
“Between slips and falls I finished with a 22nd place” wrote Silvia on her Instagram profile “I am satisfied with the work done, but I have to believe more … I’m on the right way! Thanks to the Italian national team for their support and to Valcar – Travel & Service for giving me the opportunity to race at these levels. What to say? [This year] I come back with a wealth of important experience [..] we are on the right way”.
