With the Nafarroako Klasikoa disputed yesterday with the victory of Annemiek Van Vleuten, a period of the season in which the girls of Valcar – Travel & Service will race in Spain in four competitions for a total of seven race days has opened.
“Let’s go racing with the intention of improving our condition and being ready for the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas” said the director Davide Arzeni “yesterday was a very tough race with 3000 meters of difference in altitude and rain all day. It is not exactly a race that suits our characteristics, of course. But I am still happy with the progress of our young players: Barbara Malcotti was in front for a long time and she tried to attack too, while Federica Piergiovanni was a bit unlucky because she lost her contact lenses. It doesn’t matter, we’re here to gain experience. I am also happy because Alice Maria Arzuffi is slowly finding the condition and solving the physical problems that have held her back at the start of the season. I am confident that I will do well in some stages of the Vuelta Burgos when Silvia Persico will join us too, who did very well in Luxembourg ”.
A busy schedule awaits the Valcar – Travel & Service girls who will compete in these races:
– May 14: Clasica Femenina Navarra (called: Alice Maria Arzuffi, Silvia Magri, Federica Piergiovanni, Elena Pirrone, Ilaria Sanguineti, Margaux Vigié)
– May 16: Ciudad de Eibar Grand Prix
– May 18: Durango – Durango Emakumeen Saria
– May 20-23: Vuelta a Burgos Feminas
