Sardinia increasingly central to Volotea’s strategies on Italy. The low cost carrier, which has been relying on FAS Airport Services for several years for the management of layovers and passenger rerouting, continues to shape the programming for the next summer season on the island, which will be enriched with two new connections from Cagliari airport in the direction of Lille and Nice.

The French routes will have one and two frequencies per week respectively and will be launched between the end of May and the beginning of June, for a total of nearly 15,000 seats for sale. With the new entries in summer 2022 there will be 21 destinations served from the Elmas airport by Volotea.

“We are happy to see Volotea strengthen its presence at Cagliari Airport with significant growth in international connections – underlines David Crognaletti, chief commercial officer of Sogaer -. In this restarting phase for the tourism sector it is essential for Cagliari and Southern Sardinia to expand the network towards the north and south of France, one of our most strategic markets “.
